« on: April 11, 2013, 01:49:28 AM »
Dear All,

My name is Khalid Ali Im from Iraq and Im happy to find your forum now as the LTC is new so the people here can become friends :-)
I have some questions :
1. If there is already a cryptocurrency BTC why do u espect people to need other cc like LTC?
2. I understand that in real world there is 182 different currencies but that is because politics and the existence of various countries , but BTC is decentralized so why should LTC survive?
3. If LTC survive that will open door for hundreds of other cryptocurrencies to be mined and then people will chose different cryptocurrencies which can drop the value of all these new currencies including BTC and LTC or no?
4. If the price for one LTC will keep rise do u think it will be always less than BTC so u decided to make the obbr. of LTC silver?

Im sorry for my poor english and hope u except me as a new friend for u here .

السلام عليكم   Salam Alaikum, my friend!

Welcome to the forums, Khalid! I visited your beautiful country in 2009 with a group of young people from the US and was amazed at the hospitality and great food and good memories!

Your English is much better than my Arabic or Kurdish (not sure what part of Iraq you are from).

To answer your question about why Litecoin has a future. Essentially, Litecoin transactions take 1/4th the time to confirm on the network, so better for fast transactions (like buying a coffee or Fanta at the local shop). Also, there is 4 times as many Litecoins vs Bitcoins that will be released. Many people make the comparison of Gold (bitcoin) and Silver (Litecoin).

For now, I mine litecoins and document my journey and show others how to build mining rigs here: http://www.coinminingrigs.com

For fun, I tried translating to Arabic in Google Translate :)
