Hey all,
          # NB-There is no ill intent here, only intention is to have better communication between first and 'next' gen miners. And by miners I mean the people behind the machines.

I Decided to come over to this forum and see if it was alive after finding seemingly few litecoin L3+ers chatting it up on one of the other big forums...Without a huge discorse, I find the cultures in and around mining interesting in that there seems to be a lack of account for the fact that since the 'gold rush', and I'm not talking BTG, the huge influx of people getting into mining these days include an ever growing portion of individuals who know next to nothing about crypto, the history, the industry, or culture, computers or coding. Heck, they just want to make some money...

Weather gpu's survive in the long run they won't scale well, call it what you want, an ASIC or a better GPU, but progress will always move forward. The first gen miners will always maintain a larger degree of control, not because they are clinging to their gpu's, but because of the large pool of computer, technology and coding knowledge surrounding the first generation miners and their close ties to the roots and community surrounding those first years. But when the masses start flowing in, there is always going to be greed and entrepreneurs, capitalists, and religious folks. But progress will not stop for the sake of tradition. You can hang on to tradition, or adapt to what's right in front and happening. The genie is out of the bottle now so to speak, and ASICS are a symbol of what's to come by way of scale and progress, maybe ASICS just need to be embraced, as I can't see the masses adapting to bow to tradition. There will be a demand, and that demand will be filled by whomever can get the job done, and for less, and a multitude of other reasons which all promote competition and progress.

If GPU's are your religion, that's fine, as long as you know 'why' it is.

So, perhaps the next generation of miners will sweep away all that's left of the breadcrumbs, or will tradition triumph?

Either way, I think where we are now, the two generations are going to have to better understand each other, and learn to play next to each other in the public sandbox...

What's your thoughts on whether you feel there is a generational gap with the new miners vs the old, specifically when it comes to 'Asiphobism', my new word I pieced together to describe the condition of fear associated with those who are 'asicnotic', ok, that's enough...lol
