Newbie at Ltc Mining
« on: February 05, 2014, 09:26:12 PM »
Hey guys,
I'm Nico and pretty new in this mining world, I was considering mine BTc but at the rate the difficulty of the blocks increases exponentially I don't see any advantage of do in so at this moment. So I'm looking to build and Ltc Mining machine but I'm a little confuse in how to this set up should be built.
Does the ram and cpu plays any major role on the mining process or its just the GC the ones that will make all the work??
I'm looking to buy a mobo with 4 3rd gen PCe slots running maybe a 4 ATI  7990 but i don't know if its worth it to invest a good amount of money on the cpu. would a celeron cpu do the trick or it needs to be a decent cpu for the mining? what about the memory?  do I have to have a lot of ram or it doesn't matter?
I also saw on newegg GC cards that run 6gb ddr5 memories but they are built for server usage, they support crossfire and sli but I don't really know the main difference between a GC for a regular computer and a server one.

I would really appreciate any kind of input.

Buy cheap processor like AMD Sempron 145, not expensive motherboard with 3-4 PCI-E slots. RAM does not play a big role here, but i read somewhere it should be about 2GB per card, but I think it can be less.
You would not be able to run stable 3 7990 cards in the case, you have to use raisers. These cards are getting hot pretty good. I have 7990 in separate comp with open case and sitting in A/C cooled to 65F server room, still hard to keep it around 81C.
So, you have to pay attention mostly to cooling cards and having reliable powerful enough PS.

Hello Comunity!
im new here too and i have some questions like every newbie i guess.
I was observing bitcoins price raising and but the time to mine bitcoins is just gone.
Now like everybody i presuppose that this will happen with the litecoins...
So why not mining? I have the possibility that i dont pay electricity, living in south america,
but what does it matter having lots of litecoins, mining and trading...
It seems to me that it still being nothing more than a new upcoming type of share getting popular
but not negotiable like cash in my hands.
Please set me right if im wrong. ;)
