sudden drop in performance and overheating
« on: January 06, 2014, 08:24:35 AM »

Hi All,

Sometimes when I start up CGMINER it will show my fan speeds as RPM and other timer it will show them as a percentage,

when the fan says its running on a percentage the card runs hotter and at a lower performance rate (350mh/s). When the fan runs and shows speeds as RPM it runs cooler and runs better (450mh/s)

I have cleaned and reinstalled drivers and still getting same issue, I never had this problem up until yesterday and nothing has changed. I know that when cgminer is showing the fan running at 100% it actually isnt.

Thanks for any help

The cards that are at 100% usually show RPM and run much cooler and a much better hash rate I usually run at about 1300mh/s

I had that too and I found that I had a wire stuck in a fan of my GPU. It was running hot and giving a percentage. So are the fans on your GPU running ok?
